SambAsia SF Carnaval Grand Parade 2011

Organized by SambAsia San Francisco

Fundraising for SambAsia SF's Final Carnaval Parade

Sambasia SF is an award winning multi-ethnic, multi-generational Escola de Samba modeled after those in Rio de Janeiro and the Bloco Afros of Salvador Bahia, Brazil. SambAsia's theme of " One World Awareness, Building Cultural Bridges" continues to be at the heart of their endeavors in bringing people together through music and dance. Known for their creative cross-cultural collaborations with various Asian music and dance traditions such as Japanese Taiko, Korean Pungmul Percussions, Okinawan music, and Filipino Kulintang music, SambAsia is an annual and highly anticipated participant in San Francisco's Carnaval Parade since their debut at the 25th Anniversary of the San Francisco Carnaval in 2003.

Sadly, this is looking to be the last season for SambAsia SF and we are currently preparing for our participation in the Grand Parade one last time, on May 29th at the 2011 SF Carnaval. ...only with a very limited budget. With your generous help, we are hoping to come up with the necessary funding to cover for the numerous costs associated with this endeavor of bringing people together from various neighborhood and regions in the San Francisco Bay Area; Approximately 30 adults and most importantly, up to 50 children. Your contribution would ultimately help to provide this positive and life-changing experience to them.

Thank you for your support!
